Dia De Los Muertos 2022


The Laredo Center for the Arts is proud to present LCA’s Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Celebration. Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican celebration to honor our dearly departed.


Día de los Muertos Cultural Celebration will take in conjunction with CaminARTE (downtown art walk) on Friday, Nov 4, 2022 from 6pm-9pm.


LCA’s Dia de los Muertos Cultural Celebration will feature our new exhibit “Galactic Warriors and Rituals of Mesoamerica” by Andy Villarreal, Altar exhibit, Art Workshops, Ballet Folklorico dance performances, Calavera Poems, and LCA’s Art & Food Market.


This event is free & open to the public. We also invite all attendees to dress as catrin/catrinas. The community is also invited to bring photos, flowers, & offerings of their deceased loved ones for the community altar that will be on exhibit.


The schedule of events is as follows:


6:00 pm-9:00 pm Galactic Warriors and Rituals of Mesoamerica” Exhibit by Andy Villarreal Altar Exhibits (Mezzanine)

Food and Art Vendors (LCA Patio)



6:00 pm- 7:00 pm Hands on Workshops on How to Make Calaverita masks



7:00 pm- 8:00 pm Ballet Folklorico presentations by Instituto Cultural Mexicano de Laredo Grupo Folklorico, TAMIU Ballet Folklorico, Gabriela Mendoza Garcia Ballet Folklorico


8:00 pm- 8:30 pm Calavera Poems.
